Suiting up for Summer

Since were now on the brink of summer a few things come to mind. The beach, water, swimsuits, sand..and fun! A few weeks ago I recently went to Hawaii, while I was there I was able to observe a lot of trends going on in swimwear. For me, a swim staple I always have on hand is a plain back bikini. Its neutral, it looks great under jean shorts an off the shoulder top, and a fedora when your walking around town. The plain bottoms are also great to mix with bright colored tops. A big trend I saw in Hawaii was the strapless top that is cinched in the middle. Lots of people were wearing it in bright neon colors. Another swimsuit that I am liking this season in the 50's inspired halter top, with slightly thicker banded bottoms.

Travelin'

Its been a very long time since I have last posted. I have been busy this year trying out different retail related jobs and non-stop traveling. I have had an exciting year, but I'm ready to get back into blogging about what I love most, Fashion! I have traveled to a wide variety of places this year and I wanted to share a few things I learned along the way.

One of my first stops this year was a cruise to Bermuda. Bermuda was a gorgeous island off the coast of North Carolina. My favorite thing about Bermuda, besides the amazing beaches with pink sand and aqua marine water were the homes. They were all bright pastel colors (pink, purple, turquoise, lime green) with white roofs. I loved the color combinations of these homes. Its an interesting color choice that could only be pulled off in Bermuda, or inside someones Nantucket beach house. I loved the look of the bright buildings amongst the beautiful blue water landscape. Bermuda was an inspiring place for me, and I can now see where a lot of East Coast designers (Lilly Pulitzer, Ralph Lauren) get there pastel and white combinations. I persoanlly love it..especially in the summer!
